How to stop search engine from crawling?

Hello guys!

Share your expertise on how do we stop search engine from crawling the website's pages. And in case we do not want certain pages to get indexed, what are we supposed to do? (Please comment only if you have experience in doing this).

i've noticed (as have some of my users) that it often takes a few seconds (sometimes many seconds) to connect to one of my web sites even just to connect to a public directory listing (thus avoiding any WordPress effects) takes far longer than it should. ex:

seems like it's been happening for a couple of weeks now.

the site is hosted on nasa .

any idea what could be causing this?

Paypal or Google Checkout? Or both?

I need some help, I've been looking for info, but I'm getting bleary-eyed. I've never done a site with eCommerce and a client has decided she MUST have it.

I'm looking at Google Checkout, which looks super easy to implement, but I'm concerned that not enough people would use it, so we need to accommodate PayPal users. The PayPal site does not make it look so easy (unless I am missing something) for a seller to use, unless you're selling through a third party like eBay or Etsy.

Can someone point me to some good, easy to understand info on this stuff? It's not just for me, I'll need to show whatever info I get to the very NON-techie client and be sure she understands how it works, as well.

we must keep in mind some disadvantages of the E commerce like
Any one, good or bad, can easily start a business. And there are many bad sites which eat up customers� money.
There is no guarantee of product quality.
Mechanical failures can cause unpredictable effects on the total processes.
As there is minimum chance of direct customer to company interactions, customer loyalty is always on a check.

Cannot open support ticket

I just tried to open a support ticket.

After click on "Submit Ticket" there is an error message
"Cannot insert the ticket."

Any idea what's wrong ?

Subdomain not working

I set up a subdomain in backstage today and it doesn't seem to be working.
I keep getting a server not found error. office.pocacoop.com So, what am I doing wrong?

Install the Paypal SDK for PHP

Our shared servers do not provide shell or commandline access. You can still install the SDK manually rather than with their install.php

1. Unpack the SDK to your local machine.

2. FTP into your server.

3. Create a directory in the root folder to hold the libraries. We are placing it under the root for security.

4. Copy the /lib/ folder from the SDK package into the new directory on your server.

5. Copy the samples folder from the SDK into a directory under public_html. You can place the /samples/ directory in public_html or into another subfolder of it if you like.

6. On your desktop, create a new file in a text editor.

7. Copy the following code into your text editor:

ini_set('include_path',$include_path . PATH_SEPARATOR . $sdk_dir)

Edit the value of $sdk_dir to be the full path to the /lib/ folder you uploaded in step 4.

i.e. If you installed /lib/ into /home/username/, the full path would be "/home/username/lib/ (Change username to cpanel username)

9. Save the file as filename 'ppsdk_include_path.inc'

10. Upload the file into the /samples/php directory with the other sample files assuming you are using PHP.

11. In your browser, browse to the samples/php directory on your server and test. You may login to your Paypal Sandbox and test with the default sandbox API profile.

I just need to know that once i've written an article on one niche, should i submit the same article to different directories and post it in my blog as well, or will that be counted as a duplicate. Its a country domain and a lot of customers ask for that.
