  • How to see htaccess file

Hi, at times, I do not see the htaccess file in the cpanel or the ftp despite the fact that the file is available on the server. What should I do then is the file hidden. ?
do i need to enter some command

It might be the case that the htaccess file doesn’t actually exist in the hosting account yet and the server is using a default one instead.

The file is also a hidden file and maybe you need to check your FTP client settings in order to view it.

        refer to the attachment,

when you open the file manager, you will get a pop-up

Near the bottom of that pop-up

there is an option to show hidden files.

you can tell apache where to find the .htaccess file in the httpd.conf file.

but usually, the .htaccess will go in the www directories for each of the virtual hosts.
