  • Secure SSL/TLS Email Connections.. long overdue? Why is this not yet an option?

    Hi.

I am surprised that in this day and age we are still unable to login to our emails securely. Currently we use none-secure connections which means all of our emails that we download and send can be seen by absolutely anyone who is wishes to sniff our connection.

This might have been ok back in the 90s but in 2014 do you not think it is about time (and way over due) that secure SSL/TSL connection is enabled so that just like any other mainstream email provider (Hotmail, Google, Yahoo etc etc) accessing our emails can actually done securely and privately..?

    Kind regards.

Hello and thank you for your question!
In fact we do have this feature available for a very long time.

    The required port settings are:

    IMAP: 993
    POP3: 995
    SMTP: 465

This could be easily tested with "telnet mailserver.com port number" , see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/196748

Actually you can access via https://webmail.supremecluster.com/ instead of http://webmail.supremecluster.com/

I saw the GeoTrust SSL certificate issued on that domain from year 2012.

wjleong is correct, the cert has been installed since 2012 and I pretty sure it was there before 2012 as well.

One thing I do wish we could have is a secured connection via our branded domains. Every-time I use mail.mybrand.com I get a cert error as the domains do not match. Is there any way to address this problem?
