  • .CLUB domain names now open for registration

As more and more new Top-Level Domains (nTLDs) promising to change the online “namescape” are made available for registration, we keep adding attractive extensions to your portfolio as well. After the recent introduction of .WEBSITE, .XYZ and .SPACE, next on the list is .CLUB. .CLUB is a perfect domain extension for the social world we live in and is currently the 5th most popular nTLD on the web.

    What is specific about .CLUB?

.CLUB was introduced officially to the public on May 7, 2014, by .Club Domains, LLC. Just a few months later, .CLUB became the first nTLD to pass the 100,000 domain threshold, and less than a year later – in April 2015, this number doubled to over 200,000.
According to nTLDstats.com, the paramount source of nTLD statistics, .CLUB is one of the top 5 most registered nTLDs and the number of websites using this extension is expected to reach 300 000 by the end of the year.
The remarkable growth of .CLUB can be attributed to its social value and to its power to represent groups and communities that share a common interest online.
What sites is .CLUB good for?

.CLUB can be embraced by various clubs, organizations and communities wishing to extend their web presence beyond the realm of social media:

The .CLUB extension can be used by:
    • clubs and membership organizations wishing to add a community feel to their online presence by using a ‘clubname.club’ type of address for their website
    • retailer or consumer facing businesses who want to give an ‘in the club’ feel to their customer retention programs
    • all sorts of sports clubs, including football, baseball, tennis and rugby clubs, running and swimming clubs, as well as sports fan clubs
    • entertainment spots like restaurants, bars, night clubs, social clubs, comedy clubs, even gentlemen’s and ladies’ clubs wishing to add a unique and memorable ‘club feel’ to their site name
    • individuals wishing to share their passion and draw followers Users can also use their .CLUB sites to promote and drive traffic to their social media pages (Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, Google+ communities or Yahoo groups, etc.)

    Registration details about .CLUB domains

Because of their wide-scale purpose, .CLUB domains are open for registration to anyone for a period of 1-10 years. The registration process is quick and simple, with no specific requirements to follow.
.CLUB domain names that have been registered with another registrar can be moved over to us at the same price. An EPP key is required for the transfer to go through successfully.
How to activate the .CLUB domain extension on your store?

.CLUB is enabled by default for your store. If you haven’t made changes to the list of TLDs in your Reseller Control Panel, the new TLD will be listed next to .NAME.
If you have adjusted the original order of TLDs, however, the new nTLD will be listed as an inactive option at the bottom of the TLD table under Domain Pricing.
You can now go ahead and enable it and then choose its best position from a marketing perspective.
With the introduction of the .CLUB extension, clubs, communities and organizations now have a perfect solution for becoming recognizable online and for keeping club members coming back.
With such a large potential market and with the growing .CLUB TLD registration rates, you have all the reasons to now push .CLUB up in your domain portfolio and offer great value to your passion-sharing customers.

As always, I'm very happy to see RSP continuing to add more and more nTLDs to the platform. Please keep on doing it and little by little well have a lot more to offer potential clients. I learned something new about the existence of the "nTLDstats" website. Very Interesting information to watch the sells of the new nTLDs rise over time etc.... Good post with good information.
