When you get our age you sometimes see things a bit different..LOL!
Being this is a thread about kalin's birthday I will use him as example,
hope he does not mind. Anyways, if say you were 10 when kalin was born
then you were 100% older than him...right? So when he reached 10 then you
were 20...ahhh...only 50% older...LOL!!! When you get 100 he will be 90
and you are only 10% older...hahaha eventually you will be the same age?
It is fun to be Old but maybe I should go take my pill now? LOL!!!

It must be an odd feeling for someone to be 60 and have a parent that is 80. It must be even more odd for the 80 year old parent to watch their child grow old. Its a bit ironic really, when you're in your twenties and thirties you tend to crack jokes at your parents about being old. Then when you hit your sixties and your parents are in their late seventies or early eighties, the table suddenly turns. You've all bought burial plots, made funeral arrangements, have huge life insurance policies, retired, home is already paid for, kids are gone, on medicaid, drawing social security and on tons of medication.
Hows that for a swift kick in the arse? Man, I'll never pick on my parents about growing old again lol
When I was a teenager, I volunteered at a nursing home for 3 hours a week. There were two residents there that were far too closely related for comfort. The daughter was 82, the mother was 100. Both had Alzheimer's but loved to play UNO. That kinda told me to think twice before you put your mother in a nursing home.Last edited by Guest; 30-01-2007, 10:00 PM.
