  • What do you think of the increased quota and bandwidth of corporate and enterprise?

    Hello guys,

What do you think of the increased quota and bandwidth of corporate and enterprise?

I would like to hear some feedbacks and opinions here. To me, I think it will only drive those clients who want quality > quantity away.

For those who still do not realize this, here is the new plan:-

    Corporate - 2500 GB disk, 25000 GB traffic, 200 000 files Max, CPU - 5.5%
    Enterprise - 4500 GB disk, 45000 GB traffic, 300 000 files Max, CPU - 7%

To RSP: What about the plans of current clients? Will they space and bandwidth be increased as well?

I assume that our policy will remain unchanged here. Existing clients can request their web hosting plans to be updated with the new plan parameters upon renewal of their accounts. In some cases this might require the transfer of the account to a new server.

Thank you for clarifying that Milen.

BTW, are you still with RSP now?

I see on the RP homepage that Business hosting plan includes only 10 emails now. I host my web hosting store on Business account and use more than 10 emails. So I expect I will need upgrade next year? Will all email accounts work properly now?

Yes, I am still with Reseller Panel on a part-time basis.

Yes, the email accounts should work properly and you will not need an upgrade for this, don't worry. The number of email accounts available with hosting plans listed on Reseller Panel homepage is wrong. I suppose that it will be fixed soon, but it is always advisable to open a support ticket, when you encounter such an error or a bug.

This has so made my day! I have been pushing for something like this for the 4+ years I've been here now, and it's finally happened! I'm so happy!!!

Personally, I think it is sad how the hosting industry has evolved over the years. Come on, 3-4 TB of data!? That is nothing but ridiculous. Anyone with a tiny sense of computer knowledge realize this is nothing more than a number. You might as well add a few zero's and it wouldn't make a difference.

              Just my 2 cents.

John, that is true, but - the problem arises when every other host does it. This puts us at a sort of competitive disadvantage. It's a perception problem - though no one could possibly find something to fill all of that space or use all of that bandwidth, they would still feel they are getting less, and are somehow being short-changed.

If that is the why not just give unlimited space and bandwidth? It doesn't really make any difference.

Indeed, that is true. And I believe that is why RSP does now offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth on their semi-dedicated plans.

I think the new plans are great. However I am disappointed we weren't warned by this, OR that we aren't given some option to switch over to the new plans in our own time. Because I use the Corporate and Enterprise plans on all my hosting websites (I have a lot), now all my sites are displaying incorrect information and it seems concerning for new clients when they go to signup and they see different details to what are on my other custom pages.

I now unexpectedly have to dive into all my sites updating them, which right at this moment I just don't have the time to do. New plans are great, just give us a chance to update our sites first and give us control on switching over to the new plans.

P.S. If my last post seemed very critical, I do want to make special mention, thank you for the kind enlarging of the accounts. It's great to be able to compete in a large package market. And I htink it's great the BUsiness package wasn't raised, because I can market to both smaller and large package markets.

                        Cheers,
                        Leigh

I like the new CPU limits!
I also agree with syownet somewhat, an option to change at our own timing would be great! So we have a chance to update our custom sites.
As far as a warning though, I think we were kinda warned in the last newsletter or in news or here maybe, I'm not sure,,,where. But, we were told to expect changes. that will improve the services and our ability to compete in this always changing hosting business.

I agree with Leigh. Resellers should be notified by this long enough for us to be prepared before it is announced to the public. RSP should be more responsible towards the resellers.

Hey, it's something a large number of us have been asking for for a very long time - beggars can't be choosers!
