That's not bad for an investment. Has a deal over this taken place already? I would like to know how much is the average offer for ~~40 clients.

Thats more clients then I could ever hope to have. I wish I had even one client, besides myself. Sadly, I am very poor at advertising and for that matter have no money to advertise with, so...yeah, lol. Good job on getting all those clients, though! There a particular reason you're getting rid of them?

I only have one paying client myself. Doesn't begin to pay for the semi-dedicated server I am paying for. I realize I have only been at this for 6 months and I don't have any advertising money either, but you would think that someone would have stumbled upon my website by this point!

          To Bert and Nova-Host:

Marketing does not have to cost you money. There are prospective clients all around you. Every time you see a new business opening up they are prospective clients of yours. What is preventing you from stopping, talking to the owners and offering your services? There are many new businesses out there that can benefit from a hosting account and web design services. Many cannot design a website by themselves or just don't have the time to do it. When I first started out in the hosting and design business I would talk to these people that were opening new businesses and offer to assist them with their website needs. At first I used Site Studio as a design tool, before I moved on to Dreamweaver. In fact I still use it when I want a quick, simple and inexpensive design. One that I did recently with Site studio is http://sgcarpetcleaners.com.

I was able to offer this to my client for very little money and it was up and running in one day. Another happy customer! So, the moral is, don't sell yourself short. There are many ways to get and retain clients, but you have to work at it. Use your efforts, not your money. Offer your services everywhere you go, to all you meet. You never know who is going to need your help. About the only expense you really need to make is to have some business cards printed up, and you can even do that yourselves.
