Hello,

I have my reseller now with some time. Almost a year (I think) and find it hard to get customers. I only have sold two plans in that time and only one affiliate has sold one plan. I advertise all over the place but cannot draw people to buying. I even bring the prices to the lowest, still no good.
Has anyone got any ideas?

Site Advertising

The prices are not the most important factor. There are many ways to bring customers to your site like search engine submission, targeted traffic campaigns, banner advertisement on popular sites/networks. Very good source for information related to the internet marketing is the Add Me Newsletter -> http://www.addme.com/nlpast.htm . The articles you can read there are very useful and I highly recommend you to spare some time to read it.

You have to spend money to test the different possibilities or the services of some advertiser. The internet marketing is a science and learning it is not an easy task.

Feel free to discuss internet marketing topics and exchange information with other forum members as far as it's a very interesting discussion field.

Try CPC or CPL Prgrams

CPC - Cost Per Click
One of the better CPC programs is Google Adwords. There are many books on how to use Google Adwords successfully. I would recomend purchasing one and reading how CPC can benefit you. One of the best resources on Google Adwords is Perry Marshall. His books can be found at www.perrymarsall.com

CPL - Cost Per Lead
Some would say it is more effective than CPC and others would argue that CPC is better. Only way to find out which is best for you is to try both for yourself. Probably the most popular would be HostVoice. I have read many reviews on HostVoice, good and bad. I have yet tried them for myself, but do intend to in the near future. You can place Google banners on your store, if they allow you of course.

Many of our reseller are currently using the Google banner program with our reseller templates.

You can place the banner in the footer or in the header of your store, where you can use custom HTML code.

You don’t need to implement CPL (Cost Per Click) into your site. CPL is a system of generating quality leads. These leads are shown to a select few advertisers (5-10), so competition is lower than what CPC's like Google Adwords are.

Let me explain how CPL works. A customer who is looking for web hosting services visits the CPL site and fills out a form. This form is broken down to exact measures, such as:
• their budget
• kind of hosting they need (linux or windows)
• how much space and bandwidth they require
• etc...
You the seller (advertiser) receive an email of a potential lead (the customer above) and now can reply back to the lead. The conversion rate and the quality of the leads are higher than that of CPC.

HostVoice (www.hostvoice.net) is the best I have found. Yet, I have read many good and bad reviews from those who have used their service. You just have to remember that one person’s success of advertising does not guarantee your success. The only way to find out if CPL is the best choice of advertising for you is to try it yourself. Same can be said of CPC and any other form of advertising.

There are many other CPL companies, but most do not offer web hosting leads. I have found one or two others that offered web hosting leads, but I can’t remember who they were. If I can remember who they are I will repost here with links to their sites.
