  • How many customers do you have?

I only have 1 ... and I've been at this for months now. I need to find a way to get customers because this isn't really paying anything for me ... I've submitted the site to tons of search engines, posted in forums, done everything I can think of ... I still have to try a banner exchange I guess but I don't think I should have to... any tips?

Try links(banner) exchange, but be careful with whom you make the exchange.
Exchange links with e-commerce sites and portals, with forums that are about web hosting.
Search for people who wish to have a reliable host, people who are not happy with their present host, and
wish to move their sites to a new one.
Try looking for a certain market niche. I know this sounds too general, but I hope this will help you.

If you have friends and colleagues that need web hosting - they are potential customers.

Make sure to visit forums that are about advertising, there you will find useful information and tips regarding advertising
    and marketing.

I agree with Vasko. Make a niche find a smaller "piece of the pie" b/c its tought to go against big dogs that have $ and staff just dedicated to marketing.

I can't tell you how many customers I have but my first 6 months where very slow just hang in there... I have good months and I have bad months.

I start before a month and have 2 customers and one affiliate. Not bad. As for marketing: I tried with google ads (2 weeks) but - without any effects; I got these clients from link exchange from webmasters related sites. With new design and ads in webmasters lelated newsletters - I think that I will have more customers.

I feel like this is one of my better money-making web programs. Not my best, but still good. I usually sell 1-2 accounts per month. I currently have 9 active accounts, and 12 affiliates. Only two of my affiliates have made sales. I get a $50-60 payment every couple months.

Most of my sales come by my recommendations to use DMHP hosting on my other sites. I have found that advertising isn't a great way to pick up customers. What you need to do is talk to other webmasters and on forums and recommend good programs. The key is that they trust you.

Some of my accounts will start renewing for another year soon. It really does get easier the longer you stick with it.

          Good Luck to all,

          DJ

The Web Hosting business is one of the most competitive on the internet. Yes I agree this is one the best programs for residual income but it really comes down to how you market your business. Picking a good target market and sticking with it.

Sold two more packages in the last 3 days and picked up another affiliate.

Just qualified for another $50 payment!

So stick with it, once you get a few customers, they will pass on their recommendations to others and your business will grow through word of mouth.

I've got 8 customers plus 12 affiliates, but none of the affiliates have made any sales!

How many customers do you have

How long are you going to stick with this project? 1 year minimum. When have you predicted to breakeven on the content you bought.? How big is your advertising pot? If you can manage it maybe buy custom content.

I think 1 year is just to short for this project. More like 2 years will be needed based on the details that you have given. IMO.
