  • How many customers per server?

    Hallo,

I am using RSP almost a year now. But i have a question. You offer Corporate plan that has 25000MB of disk space. How do you allocate all this space? According to the server specifications you have 2x250GB in RAID 1. That means that you can only add 10 "Corporate" customers to each server! Or 16 customers for the Business plan! Am i correct?
    How does this thing work?

And something else. How about the download and upload speed? How much upload and downloads can each customer have?

    Thank you!
    Iasonas

iasonas, very few customers actually use the disk space allocated with the plan they purchase. This is why we use controlled overselling, where more disk space than is actually available on the server is provided with web hosting accounts. The vast majority of web hosting providers on the Internet use controlled overselling. Of course, if a customer needs to use all the disk space provided with a web hosting account, he\she can do so.

Unfortunately it is not possible to provide a specific figure as an answer to the question about download and upload speed, since there are a number of factors that can influence connectivity to the server. We do not limit the speed with which customers connect to the server, but this speed can be limited by a number of other factors such as the client’s location, Internet service provider and type of Internet connection. For example, if a client is using ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) to access the Internet, the client's upload speed will be several times lower than the download speed. This difference is due to the type of Internet connection used by the customer, since ADSL typically provides a wider download channel and a narrower upload channel, this is why it is called asynchronous.
