Enabling mod_expires

I want to be able to enable caching through .htaccess and I noticed that mod_expires is not enabled when I check phpinfo().

1. Is it possible to enable this module?
2. How does one go about it? LP control panel? Elsewhere?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
