What is backup limit ?

HI, just before few minutes I saw "Backup Limit : XXGB" in the left sided account usage.
What is this ?

On all resellers websites, its clearly stated under OS, CONNECTIVITY AND BACKUP
Stable Linux with Apache
2.5 Gbits Network Connectivity
Daily data back-up
UPS & diesel back-up generator

Then whats this new backup ?

But they were already providing backup facility for all.
If RSP is launching new one, then old one was a fake.

There has always been a backup guarantee. My clients have requested a backup and certain files were restored. It's not fake at all..

The company management has decided to restrict the disk space available for backups to 5GB per web hosting account. User accounts containing over 5GB of web files will not be backed up, unless the user orders a backup disk space upgrade. The web files within a user account should be within the backup limit allotted to the account for the user to be able to take advantage of the backup feature.

Well actually this should have been implemented since a long time ago.
Since RSP's plans are mostly oversold, it is not reasonable to provide backup for all space provided to clients since it will be very costly.

Let's imagine that a client uses 1000GB of space for a website that does not violate the TOS. Providing 1000GB of backup would have cost more than the hosting account's price.

For existing customers, I assume they will receive backups of entire accounts? Since this restriction didn't exist until recently?

The backup limit is valid for existing accounts as well.

Does RSP plan to let us (reseller) set the backup price in upgrade section instead of fixed price $2/month each 20 GB.
