A fresh idea and a new beginning

Well technically speaking RSP gets a cut when the plan is sold. But if this were to be successful then I wouldn't mind giving some back to the guys at RSP so they could improve their service even more! And I especially wouldn't mind if this was another business they jumped into in conjunction with us (the resellers), that would pretty much take care of the concerns about the money and what not...Anyway I have received a few pm's from people who are interested and if you are pm me. Right now I am just in the "info gathering" and "gauging people's interest" stage of this thing and once I have everybody that is interested contact me I am gonna figure out a way for us all to communicate so we can get this figured out together.

The idea behind Reseller Panel is that LiquidNet Ltd. stays out of all types of service marketing, promotion and advertising and concentrates on web hosting, technical support and new service development. Marketing, promotion and advertising are up to our resellers. Resellers are free to form any advertising "joint ventures" they like, but any potential LiquidNet's involvement in such a venture would seriously twist the company's business model and we would not like this to happen. As far as profits from such an undertaking go, Resellers Panel would already benefit from increased web hosting sales, if such a venture is successful, so any other profit sharing plans are not really necessary.

Basically I didn't receive very much interest. I only got 4 people that were interested . I haven't given up on the idea but I have pushed it to the back burner while I try to figure out exactly the best way for us to "team up" so to speak. I haven't given up on the idea just trying to figure it all out.

I was surprised and rather disappointed myself......and honestly there were only 3 people that were actually interested, the fourth person wanted to sell the group advertising on his website. Also, let me take this opprotunity to apoligize for the delay in getting back to you guys my life has been very hectic lately with schedule changes and so on. I'd like for to call for ANYBODY that is interested in the least to contact me with your email address and for those of you that already contacted me please send me your email address as well so I can send out one message to everybody instead of sending out one message to each individual. Thanks

Ok a new direction
Ok, because of the week response I have been forced to "modify" the idea a little bit so here it is .
As I have said already I work for a webhosting company. I will not tell you the company that I work for, but I will tell you that if you go to www.thehostingchart.com they own this website and use it to market their sites. Now the new idea is this. We start 2 sites, one hosting site here with resellerspanel and a site that is similar to TheHostingChart. Just to illustrate the point I'm gonna make up fake names for now to help explain it to you guys. So we start a site with resellerspanel called "ourhosting.com" and we start the site we are going to use for marketing as "ourhostingchart.com". Everybody that wishes to invest money in this project will get an "affiliate" link to "ourhostingchart.com". Everybody puts in equal shares of money so that no one person is spending more than the other. The money is then used to market "ourhostingchart.com". This is where the idea gets cool. A script would be written so that anytime anybody clicks a link to "ourhostingchart.com" or types it in the browser it automatically displays one of the affiliate pages such as "ourhostingchart.com/bob" and the script would cycle through all the affiliate pages so that everybody's page got shown to the potential customer equally. This would solve several problems and would have several benefits. 1st off the affiliate link would give everybody a chance to see how much they were making. 2nd it would also provide profit from the other sites that are advertised on "ourhostingchart" and 3rd it would allow us another avenue to advertise our personal resellerpanel sites as well. Say we alternate each week who's site is displaying on the list. Anyway, thats the new idea, or the new idea in addition to the new idea. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post suggestions or comments or questions. This is something that has a great deal of potential to make us MONEY if we all work together to see this happen!

I stil think the original idea was the best one. If everyone involved put identical amounts of money into ONE new resellers account, then we used that money to advertise it, then we split all profits made equally.
Lol, just thinking about it, it's kind of like a mini stock market kind of thing isn't it? People invest money and the amount of return is determined by the profitibility of the company.
However, in relation to the advertising costs, it would have to be done in such a way that the profits dished out would have the initial amount taken off in order to fund more avertising, where applicable of course.
I may be wrong with that idea, but it's the fairest one i can think of, and it would allow us to put up more and more advertising when we start making more and more profit. You could even link the advertising fee to profits so that if you make above a cerrain threshold, the amount of advertising revenue doubles and so on. It would eventually step up to be a major player in the hosting industry if everyone stayed in.

I think any idea that can get us to work together instead of seperate would be massively successful, it's just a matter of figuring out exactly how we can do it. So I am asking that EVERYBODY send me your contact info; email address, IM names and services or any other way to get ahold of you. If we all get involved and stick togetherf, pull our resources and brains together we can be successful. Hopefully I'll get a better response this go around than last .

I think that the one main reason why you are not getting many takers on this "idea" is that it's merely an idea and there is no businesses plan set in place with numbers to show. You need #'s. You need solid ideas and figures put in print. You are essentially asking for money form "investors" and therefore you need cold hard #'s.
You will need to show just how this is going to be profitable for each investor and to what extent. You will need to show how you plan on sustaining the business. How much of the profits are going to be recycled back into the company. You need to do that.
Also, you need to show that there will be enough money to pay for 2 VERY important things, a lawyer and an accountant. What's that you say, you don;t plan on getting either of these? Then don't expect any serious takers. In any serious business, especially one like this, you need a competent lawyer and a competent accountant.
And let's say that out of all the takers, you have one that is a good, honest lawyer and one that is a good, honest accountant. Well, do you expect them to do all that accounting and legal work for free. HELL NO. This is not charity. They will need to be paid, either outright in fees or through increased % payouts over the rest of the group who is only dishing out money and not giving any time.
And what about the marketing and advertising??? Who will be doing it. How do I know htey know exactly where to advertize, how to market it, and who to market to. WHere will ads be placed? Why?
On and on and on and on and...
I could go on and on about all the things any "investor" will need to know and how important and absoluetly a solid business plan will be, but I think you get my drift.
This sounds great in theory and all, but you need more than theory to get enough interested takers. You need to show it realistically on paper so as to take the theory and make it a solid theory that could possibly be put into action in the real world.Last edited by Guest; 12-10-2007, 09:59 PM.

I agree with toolsavvy. You need someone, like a lwyer, who can put this idea on paper to show that you are serious about it. Then, when you show that you have the whole thing on paper to other RSP account holders, those who see it will become interested. You see, what they want to see is ideas that are written in stone on paper and look official. If you dont have that, then how do you expect to get support from more than a few people? By the way, I do think this is a good idea, and I'd be glad to help however I can.
