Today's 16th and I don't see any news. How are things developing?

Yea, I am a little disappointed. I hope it will be released today or at least this weekend.

      Regards,

I'm not dissapointed. Did you actually expect that it would be finished on time? And they have given us a working draft. (I am not sure about this), but you could probably get your demo one to work. And I'd rather have it be really good, then have it be really bad. It'll take me another week before I'm upset.

Yes, I did expect that it would be out on time. They even went as far as to put it in the Resellers Newsletter - the first time this has been done. Yes, they've given us a working draft, but no, you can't use it yet, so that doesn't really mean anything. Besides, this is a project that has been in the making for well over a year now - it just seemed to me like they wouldn't have promised a specific date and not deliver on that. Funny thing, I haven't seen any comments from admins or anyone on this since the 15th.

I haven't seen an official statement either.

As I see it, the development is not finalised yet. You can see that there is still mismatches between the components (one part is talking about supporting xx configurations and other part is limiting it to yy).
As it is now, it will cost them and us still too much effort to maintain it during normal/daily operation.
For us (reseller) I even see a risk, that due to little configuration updates we quickly get over the max amount of configurations allowed per reseller. Which is unnecessary using different approach.

If it is released right now, I will not fulfill my need and it will probably difficult/costly to make it work.

              ._.

                I agree with you.
Like it is currently set up, we would actually suffer from using the customized plans compared to the default ones. I don't think it should be more expensive to create our own plans, than using the current ones. Now, a 50MB account with 5GB transfer and Site Studio enabled, would cost approx. the same as the Business plan.

That doesn't make any sense, and that is why I have sent a suggestion to Resellers Panel which will set the features/prices of the custom plans in more proportion to the current offerings. I got a positive reply, so lets hope it will be implemented!

The pricing is not final, I'm almost sure about that .
They need to put something as price otherwise certain aspects cannot be tested.

And we should not forget, that RSP needs to keep certain buttom price (per transaction) as otherwise it loses money. We want RSP still to be there when our business is booming and our clients want to upgrades don't we?

The 50MB pack you mentioned is one of my concerns too, which I think purely caused by the design approach. The current setup is much too complicated as interface to RSP. The possibilities shown overthere should be part of configuration panel between us and our clients. (Ofcourse RSP will need to use it for the daily operation to configure the system).
But now, at RSP level, there will be n Resellers * x configuration, while we only have x configuration. It is better when RSP support 0.5 nx configuration and we can use all of them for our clients.

But OK, maybe I can better put my comments in email and forward it back to RSP instead of putting pieces of them here and there in the forum .

                    nicesight4u,

Yes, there was an official announcement - it appeared in the latest resellers newsletter.

Also, I am not sure what mismatches you are talking about, but that aside - when something has been promised by a certain date, that is when it should be released.

                        GREAT!

It looks like the management have listened, and implemented my suggestion - atleast to some extent.
Now the features/prices are much more in proportion to the current hosting plans. We've even got the oportunity to add more e-mail addresses, subdomains, domains etc to our custom plans, than the first beta draft allowed.

Thank you for listening to the resellers!

Is there a date mentioned in the official publication?

                          For the mismatches ...
goto to List all plans ... count how many plans you have and read how many plans you still can create.
In my case, when I created the max. amount of plans allowed, according to the displayed message, I still can create 5 more .

BTW foltadesign is seeking for help regarding API ... if you have time, thread API help.

                          ._.

If this was to me, I've already offered to help foltadesign implementing the API.

Sorry JohnQ ... its for Daniel mr.G /Webhoster.

I use the hybrid display mode (you can then visually see the split in the thread), and often I forget to quote or mention the name

RSP advised me that pricing was subject to change, and that we were just looking at the beta version.
Also, they "hoped" to have V2 out by Christmas. But, by looking at past history, I think a January release is more likely. By having announced Dec 15th as the date, a lot of resellers were dissapointed!
