yes, maxa, I read your post.
And I have also seen the prices on the plan builder... probably before you did. And I think they are fine. Not as great as the biz or corp plan, but what do you expect?
it'd be nice if they were lower... but they are just fine the way they are.

Then I must be stupid becasue I don't see how I can use it to build any attractive plans in comparison to the Business and Corporate plans. It is almost impossible to build a cheaper plan than the Business plan and if I want to make a more advanced plan it ends up costing over 20 dollars per month.

I recall that several resellers have been making inquiries about the possibility to sell plans that would be cheaper than the Business plan. With the current Plan Builder you can build plans with different configurations (as you suggest) with about the same price as the Business Plan, but you can not build anything notably cheaper than the Business plan.
The other wish I have is to be able to build a custom plan quite like the Corporate, but for example without the SiteBuilder and with more domains, or IP's or databases, but that is impossible with these prices (and the 200-emailaccounts-limitation).
But with you guys beeing so positive about these prices I can probably forget about RSP doing something to change it...

I haven't turn all the possibilities upside down ... as I hope RSP will simplify the pricing structure a bit, which simplify the book keeping for them and give us more freedom in handling the retail price.
E.g. we pay for a Business Plan or corporate plan, and how to configure it is our freedom.
Your wish to have more domains at corporate plan is already honored. You can go upto ten now, without extra payment. Check the announcement.
But I'm afraid that the email limitation is still there.
BTW, do you really want to have more than 200 mailboxes per plan or do you need more than 200 email aliases on one mailbox? 200 mailbox (= 200 unique users) is quite big, the amount of traffic for an organisation with that amount of users might be higher that what a shared hosting can offer.
(Let's see what others with more traffic knowledge can say about this.)

mailboxes... whew. That makes it a lot better
maxa, if you stop comparing the plan builder to the biz and corp plan, the prices will sound a lot better.

For those of you that have never had a dedicated server or a Cpanel reseller account. I suggest you try one or the other, try to cover costs of your account or dedicated server and still make a profit. As I said in a previous post Smaller accounts usually have a higher cost meaning an account you think is worth $3 is worth $6 because it takes more of those accounts to cover their costs. Larger accounts are usually lower in price meaning if you think its worth $100 a month its actually worth $50 a month because it takes less of those accounts to cover their costs. They have to make money somewhere. RSP has employees to pay, Bandwidth to pay for, a data center to update regularly, hardware to upgrade and purchase for new servers and it even costs them to pay us our commission. None of the above is by any means cheap. So the wholesale prices reflect their expenses as well as their profit. I wouldn't expect the prices to change in terms of going lower but increasing over time. The more we help them grow the more expenses they have to cover. This is why RSP is a great program. Its Free to you the seller which means you don't have to cover any of the above expenses.
Look at the differences in the Cpanel Program and The Business/Corporate plans. You get less space, less bandwidth and a higher cost with the Cpanel Program than you do the Business and Corporate plans. Why? Because Cpanel is a licensed product and so is Fantastico which comes with your Cpanel program. Each install of the two per server requires a license that is not transferrable from server to server. A license can cost as much as $1200 per server. The consumer in turn gets a higher cost just to have Cpanel and Fantastico so RSP can cover the cost of that license as well as the support staff that has to be knowledgable in Cpanel and WHM.Last edited by Guest; 20-12-2005, 08:30 PM.
